Day - 1

Day 1: Delhi – Varanasi – Sarnath

Begin your Buddhist pilgrimage with a flight or train journey from Delhi to Varanasi, one of the world's oldest living cities. Upon arrival, proceed to Sarnath, the revered site where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment.

Explore the sacred attractions including Dhamek Stupa, Mulagandha Kuti Vihar, the historic Ashoka Pillar, and the Sarnath Museum, which preserves valuable Buddhist relics and artifacts. In the evening, witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti on the banks of the River Ganges, a spiritual ceremony that reflects the deep cultural heritage of India.

Day - 2

Day 2: Varanasi – Bodhgaya

After breakfast, drive to Bodhgaya, the most important pilgrimage destination for Buddhists worldwide. This is the sacred place where Prince Siddhartha attained enlightenment and became the Buddha under the Bodhi Tree.

Visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Mahabodhi Temple, the revered Bodhi Tree, Vajrasana (Diamond Throne), Animesh Lochan Chaitya, and beautifully maintained international monasteries including Thai and Bhutanese Monasteries.

Spend time in meditation and quiet reflection amidst the peaceful surroundings.

Day - 3

Day 3: Bodhgaya – Nalanda – Rajgir – Patna

Today, travel to Nalanda, home to one of the world's oldest residential universities and a major center of Buddhist learning. Explore the magnificent ruins and archaeological remains that once attracted scholars from across Asia.

Continue to Rajgir, a sacred destination closely associated with Lord Buddha's teachings. Visit the Vishwa Shanti Stupa, accessible by ropeway, Gridhakuta (Vulture's Peak), and the historic Ajatashatru Fort.

Later, proceed to Patna, the capital city of Bihar.

Day - 4

Day 4: Patna – Vaishali – Kushinagar

After breakfast, drive to Vaishali, one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites where Buddha delivered his last sermon and announced his approaching Mahaparinirvana.

Visit the Ashokan Pillar, Buddha Stupa, and significant archaeological remains that highlight Vaishali's rich Buddhist heritage.

Continue onward to Kushinagar, the sacred site where Lord Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana. Visit the Mahaparinirvana Temple, Ramabhar Stupa, and other important monuments dedicated to Buddha's final journey.

Day - 5

Day 5: Kushinagar – Lumbini (Optional Nepal Visit)

Proceed to Lumbini, located in Nepal, the birthplace of Lord Buddha and one of the most revered Buddhist pilgrimage destinations in the world.

Explore the Maya Devi Temple, Sacred Garden, Ashokan Pillar, and the international monastic zone featuring monasteries built by Buddhist communities from around the globe.

Pilgrims who prefer not to enter Nepal may choose an alternative route toward Sravasti.

Day - 6

Day 6: Lumbini – Sravasti

Cross back into India and travel to Sravasti, where Lord Buddha spent 24 monsoon seasons teaching and guiding his disciples.

Visit the sacred Jetavana Monastery, Anathapindika's Stupa, Angulimala's Stupa, and the serene Thai Monastery. The peaceful atmosphere of Sravasti offers an ideal setting for contemplation and spiritual practice.

Day - 7

Day 7: Sravasti – Lucknow – Delhi

Conclude your memorable Buddhist pilgrimage with a drive to Lucknow. Board your return flight or train to Delhi, carrying with you the wisdom, peace, and spiritual inspiration gathered throughout this sacred journey.
